{where does the time go??}

Where does it go between posts?? I have no idea... Anyway I have a few friends that are nicely nudging me to update, even though the most exciting thing happening here at the moment is the trip the couch took to the tip.

First I will share the product of a few week's obsession with the new Pink Paislee products I stalked at the LSS:

Tobey:

Bloom_and_grow

and... Tobey

Spunk

and... Lilly and TOBEY...

Say_cheese

and OMFG!!! Lilly: (where the F= freakin')

Sweet_on_you

and houses:

Houses

Edited to add: These houses were featured on Holly McCaig's blog.... Miss Pink Paislee herself! see here!

That enough to keep you happy while I chat?? :D

During the week I had a pizza night at the Kinder with Lilly, for Mother's day. It was fun and (honestly) I did enjoy myself. We painted, iced biscuits and made patty pan necklaces. Then we sat down on itty bitty chairs and ate child size pieces of glitter encrusted pizza. At the end of the night the kids gave us a  ranunculus bulb in a pot. Can't wait for it to sprout (and then no doubt I will kill it oops...).

Just another layout share before I leave you contemplating my simply exciting and fast paced life:

Somo_mn_girly

another March layout using the SOMO kit!

Till next time... Happy mother's day to all the mums...

{why bother??}

... trying to get a "nice" shot of them together??

FYI: Lilly was not the only one to get an icecream... Tobey had already scoffed his...

{just the same}

The same old thing happening here day to day. We see the leaves turning yellow and falling however, and the cold nights turn into warm sunny Autumnal days. The colder weather means that my babies will become another year older. I can't come to terms with these babies being so big.

I love that they can do a lot for themselves, and that they sleep 12 hours uninterrupted, but I miss the goo-gaa and the sweet baby spew and dirty nappy smell that only comes from infants. *sigh* I am sure in a few short months my buddy Celeste will help me with my nostalgia, and I will be on track again. After I change a few nappies for her and hear the babe squawking it will be all good.

Have been scrapping up a storm... Finished up my layouts for the March SOMO kit. I loved this kit. When I first saw the paper from Daisy D's called The Wonder Years, I was not sold at all. The word "kitschy" kept popping into my head and I was sure that I was all for the geometric solid type patterns (eg American Crafts and Making Memories). Lo and behold when I opened my kit- I love them!! I have posted my favourite layout that I made with the kit but you will have to visit the SOMO gallery to see the rest (when they go up).

Ok... that's about it from me tonight... Hope you enjoy your evening!

{full on!}

... is what my life is at the moment. Stuff happening in the family (good stuff, like finding my sister again), stuff in the scrapbooking front (look out for my Master the Art article coming up in Scrapbooking Memories) and photography (like enrolling in a course). Need to take a breath after writing that sentence!!

Been busy scrapping for Maria over at Scrapboxx, such a lovely chick to Design for. Loving my fellow DT'ers too... I feel like I have found myself a sweet little family. Go check out their blogs (they are linked in the sidebar).

Remember this photo from our little holiday? I got to use the March Boxx of Scraps and make a cute layout for it. It is my fave photo of Tobey right now. He is  really loving the camera right now, so if it seems like I am ignoring Lilly in my scrapping its because she doesn't love the camera so much. Or perhaps she doesn't like giving me what I want.... *sigh* the never ending battle with a 4 year old that has your identical personality. Reverse psychology works so well with her... Anyway I digress... Here is the LO:

Holiday_fun

I mentioned before that I enrolled in a photography course. I am finally following my dreams and going to go for it! I always wanted a career in photography but to go study it and then hopefully work in the industry seemed so unachievable. Since I have nothing to lose (and I have a bit of time to study) I bit the bullet. I am doing a Diploma in Digital photography via correspondence. Stay tuned for some of my photos :o)

Some more  eye candy before I go:

Marias_canvas

A canvas that I scrapped for Maria to hang in the shop of some of her fave family memories. Love the cool summery colours of this canvas which looks so much better IRL...

I'm off to bed early tonight because my kids have been tricked by the daylight savings fairy and are getting up any time form 5.30am. Who needs that?!?!

{I'm baaaaaack!!}

I'm only just beginning to feel normal too, after minimal sleep from Thursday to Monday. I had the coolest time... I had no troubles teaching at all, I had a great bunch of girls that just wanted to have fun and create with me!

Here are my two layouts that I taught the girls...

Amazing_retreat_class

This one is called amazing... We did a bit of distressing and inking and lovely layered flowers. Next up we did a double layout that opens like a book. Totally inspired by Keisha Campbell, one of my fave designers:

Classpeek4

Inside:

Classpeek2

This second class ran from 9-11pm after our "think pink" dress up night. I was getting tired and the girls were all revved up. It was great fun. I met so many new friends and had a blast. A big thankyou goes to Maria and her family for being so lovely and accommodating to us. And Ashley if you are reading: You are so cool! I only wish I could have a cool chick daughter like you. Mwah! It was great to meet you!

My luggage came home heavier than when I left, thanks to all the CHA goodies in the shop. Expect to see some scrumbo-yumbo Basic Grey and SEI layouts soon!

More later this week when I gather some more retreat photos.

Nite!

March 12, 2008

{Well I'm off...}

...like a prawn in the sun!

I am jetsetting  my way across the country to the Scrapboxx retreat. I cant wait! Just some chill time with like minded girls! I won't have to break up any fights over the last packet of Tiny Teddies or listen to the moaning over "He's on MY side of the couch!". (Unless someone brings a man with a single packet of aforementioned biscuits).

Here is a peek at one of my classes that I am freaking out about  looking forward to teaching:

Classpeek3_2

The lucky girls at the retreat will watch me in action as I bumble and stutter.... I must remember to pretend that I have actually taught a class before. The last class I taught was back in 2002 and it was First Year University Botany. Hmmmm... Methinks there will be no Dichotomous key to fall back onto on Saturday. (Sorry... did I scare you with my science speak??)

Well I am off to pack the remaining items that just will not jam into my suitcase(s), and finish up my class handouts.

Nite... See you next week!

March 03, 2008

{March Already?!?!?)

Seriously? Who made it March already? I am still in December/January mode!

Only a couple more weeks until the Scrapboxx retreat. Which means I better get off my bum and start making tags to swap. Funny how I actually need to get onto my bum in front of my desk to do them.

My friend Kirsty had her baby on Friday. A leap year baby!! Poor little thing will have to wait four years to have his real birthday! Harryson is apparently really cute... I haven't seen his face yet, he was too busy drinking from his mum when I went to visit! The back of his head is cute though! Harry was on the front page of the local paper for his leap year entry into the world, and he was the cutest of four featured there (Don't tell anyone I said that... you know what new mums are like lol...).

I made a card for Kirsty (I am sure she will be too busy to read this for a while) to share with you:

Little_bundle

Made using Stampin' Up! cardstock, ink and Wild About You stamps. I am not happy with the crease in the top left of the white cardstock. Its not too bad IRL but looks shocking here. Never mind...

Well best get that butt off this chair and onto my scrapping chair, I have lots to do!

Until next time!

{A new venture}

Just thought I would post to let everyone know that I have another little blog going for my new venture. I joined as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator last week. I decided to do a little side blog for those interested in my stamping journey: http://melnunn.typepad.com/stampinup/

I will link it it the sidebar too so it can be found easily. I am not sure how much time I can dedicate to my stamping/the blog/the business so I am taking it all very slowly to start!! BUT if there is anyone Ballarat/Geelong still interested in the "stamp club" I have a couple of spots left if you are quick!

You will be spoilt once a month with a few hours set aside for stamping/scrapbooking a couple of projects, have all your supplies cut and ready for you. I will set you a challenge to do during the month and we will have a blast getting to know one another. You have to purchase a minimum dollar amount form the Stampin' Up catalogue and we each take turns each month playing host and getting the free hostess stamp set and free merchandise from the catalogue.

If this interests you, and you want to learn some stamping/scrapbooking techniques. Email me! It is a great way to budget and build up your stamping supplies if you are a beginner or well seasoned stamper.

{American Crafts share}

No... I am not buying shares in American Crafts lol... I want to share my February AC blog layout with you.

This layout uses the yummy brown and pink goodness of the Metropolitan range which I adore!

Just_you_4_feb08

Such cold weather this morning. I saw leaves turning brown and falling off last week. I nearly cried. I sooooo don't want summer over. We never get a long enough summer here. *sigh*... As consolation though, after the cold morning we had a delightfully warm afternoon.

Tobey and I did a spot of shopping this morning after dropping Lilly off. Then we went for a long walk to the playground and Tobey collected sticks while I sat in the shade of a tree and watched. Such sweet simple things that I really am trying to learn to appreciate. My resolution for life I guess. I know and have heard of so many people's sadness and tragedy lately, I am trying to savour what I have.

What little things are you guys savouring?

Nite!

{The month of Lurve...}

Since February is known to be the month of love, Maria over at scrapboxx has come up with a "lovely" promotion.

Scrapboxx are running a special Pay It Forward promotion, where I get to give you a 15% discount voucher, simply visit their store at www.scrapboxx.com.au and put in this code when you checkout your order:-

payitforward

and your 15% discount will be automatically calculated for you. If I am the first person that has told you about this voucher - please mention my name in the comments of your order as I will receive a 5% discount voucher for every 3 people that mention my name. And don't forget - you can pay it forward too ! So spread the word! But hurry - this promotion is valid from now until midnight EST Friday 29th February 2008. (Please note - 15% discount is not valid against already discounted/sale items that are up to 80% off already, monthly kits, retreat classes and packages)

For every 3 people that mention MY name – we will donate 5% of the total of their combined order value to the Breast Cancer Foundation. I personally won't use my discount voucher.

See so we really are paying it forward. Go stock up on some scrapbooking goodies at 15% off and help out a worthy cause at the same time.

Tobey says: Share the love!!
