{My answers :)}

1. How old is Lilly? She has just turned 4.

2. What do you like best about 6x12 layouts? I love the odd shape and they are so quick to fill up!

3. The journaling  space on the 6x12 LO is the new Maya Road steno sheers. They come in a few styles and you get heaps in a tin.

4. Who would be your biggest influence on your scrapping style? My biggest? I have a couple... I love Jamie Water's style and we have a bit in common. I love the use of white space, hand journaling and clustered embellies. I also love Ali Edward's "Life Art" philosophy.

5.Who or what inspires you to scrap the most? I have mentioned a couple of scrappers above that influence my style, but as inspiration, I have my two great scrapping buddies: Celeste and Fiona. I like to gather inspiration from online sources, like scrapbooking galleries, homewares sites and kids clothing catalogues. I am motivated by colour so if something is visually appealing to me I run with it.

6.Great use of space on your lo's. Do you mostly do 1 photo ones? :-) Yes I do. I have always been interested in photography, and I love a great focal point on my pages. Single photos are so easy to position on a page... you don't have to place them in relation to another.

7. I can't think of a question to ask you...huhm...how long have you been scrapping? I have been scrapping since Feb 2004, so nearly 4 years!

8.Where are you going to put your 6x12 LO in? Um a big 12x12 storage box with the rest of the layouts that need a home. (tsk tsk... I hear...)

9. totally love your style! Are you a fast scrapper or a slow scrapper? Generally fast, I can do 1 or 2 layouts a night, or I can sit on one for days if it's just not working.

10. What are you wearing???  FREAK!!!!! Trust Celeste to go against the tide.... Actually I am wearing trackies and an old comfy t-shirt. Wearing nothing is just not right on my leather computer chair... Specially on a hot day ;o)

11. What is your favorite color to use in scrapbooking?? I love brown! brown with any colour actually... but I do love other combos of colours too...

12. OOH, I really love the little notebook journal. Who makes it? (I really do want to know, LOL). See Q 3... Maya Road!

13. Are you going to answer all these questions? No.  lol... Ok Maybe!

14. So here's my question....what is your daughter's name? She is so very cute.... Miss Lilly is very cute but typically 4 ;o)

15. My question for you would be. hmmm.. do you shop online? YES! I love shopping while in my trackies and slippers and taking my time. My fave stores (other than Lime Tart! ;o) are Blue Bazaar, SOMO, and 2peas.

16.  Did you do any black Friday shopping? Nope, we don't do Thanksgiving here in Aus... but I will be hitting the stores pretty hard on Boxing Day!

17. My question is: Out of all the thickers, what is your favourite font and colour? Man... How long is a piece of string?? Love the gift box chipboard ones... the daiquiri foam... the sweater felt, and the eggnog foam too... white is so classy, but the green is nice, and the blue... and so on...

18. Okay so um, how do you store your scraps? My pp scraps go into a 12x12 file folder and then I purge that about every couple of months. Keep my absolute faves and give the rest to the kids. I really try to use everything while its still "fresh" lol...

19.Wow... I guess my question would be: "How do you bring your stalkers out of the woodwork?" and I'm thinking that maybe the answer would be...

"Offer up an RAK to anyone asking a question!!!" Spot on Lynette!!!!!!!!!!!!

20. What is your favourite album for your layouts and why!!????? I {heart} American Crafts!!! Not just because I am sooooo lucky to design for them but because the ring binders that they have fit all sizes of page protectors easily. I like to scrap in all sizes and just slot them in as I go.

21. I would like to know which is your favorite scrapbooking brand...And more personally speaking, which perfume do you use ? I really love American Crafts, especially for their alphabets... Their papers are so nice too and the last 2 release lines are by far my fave. I love Maya Road for their mini albums and chipboard, and I also love KI Memories and Love, Elsie for the burst of colour. My perfume that I use (generally on special occasions though) is Samsara or Sunflowers.

22. Do you have a favourite colour scheme that you tend to use alot? As I mentioned before... I love brown with all colours, but I love red and navy for Tobey's pages and dark pink and white for Lilly too.

23.My question is - how do you choose the embellishments etc for a LO - do you choose them all first or add them as you go? Generally I start with photos, then pull out some paper that goes with the colours... then choose the Bazzill. Once the LO has "good bones" as my Nan would say (meaning the foundations...) I then go for alphas and journaling, leaving the embellies until last. I find that if I stray from this formula I always end up dissatisfied with the finished LO.

24. Last but not least: hi mel happy 100th my question is did you think you would be asked so many questions? I did think I would get a few but I didn't think about what I was doing answering them all... Whew!!

Well I'm pooped after all that! I have a couple of projects to share soon and some new ventures so I am sure if you are a regular to this little blog you will see...

And just coz I can't post without a pic: Here is what I asked Santa for this Chrissy:

{We have a winner... or two...}

I wrote out all the names of the 30 ladies that commented (31 comments but someone accidentally commented twice)... Put them in a Dora the explorer tin (as advised by my 4 y.o.) and got her to draw a name.

The winner is:

Dsc_3522

Marelle! I will drop you an email!

See that flash of skin in the top right hand corner? That was Tobey... Not wanting to be left out, he too drew a name. Now because its my Birthday and I am feeling generous... I will send a little something in the mail to:

Dsc_3523

Tobey looks ever so pleased huh? I think he was concentrating on holding the paper still lol... Sue, could you please email me with your details so I can send you something nice?

Now I did mention that its my birthday... We had a birthday tea last night at the inlaws and look what I got:

Dsc_3501

Very nice! A freshwater pearl and crystal necklace. The red and olive odd shaped thingies are the pearls. I have never seen anything like it and I love it! Just my colours. I am planning on upgrading my camera body soon so I asked the kids (i.e. their dad) not to get me anything. I did get to choose these though:

Dsc_3524

So far its been a great day. I am off to lunch with Jodie today too and I am hoping to get a peek at her engagement ring. Yup... so exciting, it just seems so strange. I have known her as just "Jodie" for so long... I need time to get used to the fact that she is one half of "Jodie and Ash" . Totally happy though. I am hoping that Lilly gets to be a flower girl. How stinkin' cute!!

I will return either tonight or tomorrow to answer all those questions you guys asked!

Have a great day!

{Delurked}

Lots of you are delurking... I love it! Come say hi all you ladies that drop by for a look! Remember to comment on the post below to be in the goodie draw.

We went to vote today. It was hilarious because we told the kids this on the way there and then they began to fight over who was going to drive the "boat" when we got there. I was cracking up because apparently Damien and his brother did the same thing once when they were kids too. I always said that the kids had inherited their dad's lack of hearing! We pulled up at the polling booth and Tobey jumped out of the car... "Where's the water?" "No mate, Vote not boat." Poor bugger, he thought we were going to the beach.

The funny things they say hey?

I guess I can't get away with not posting some eye candy so here is another retreat layout done for American Crafts using the Metropolitan paper and yummy felt thickers. I am off to post it at 2peas in a minnie...

Have a happy Election day Aussies!

{100 bottles of beer on the wall...}

** Edited to say comments are closed while I do the draw** Be back soon!

Well not really... Its just 100 posts sounds boring! Its nearly 2 years and I think I am averaging about a post a week.

So to celebrate I am offering a RAK... Ask me a question and I will put you in the draw. I will draw a name out on Monday morning. The winner will get an assortment of American Crafts goodies, bits and bobs.

I went to a scrapbooking retreat last weekend and had a blast. Its good to recharge the batteries isnt it?? Here is a layout I put together using a few bits and bobs (and some KI pop culture too). Its a 6x12 layout:

Hey

Happy Friday!

{crafty endeavours}

So here I am with some crafty bits to share. I have been working on a quilt for Tobey. I am half done and have the rectangles cut to do the other half. I am hoping to have it done before Christmas.

Next up is a baby cardi for my friend Kirsty who is having another bubba boy. He is due to enter the world at the beginning of March. So many cuddles saved up for that little guy!

Finally we have a sneak of November's projects for Lime Tart. Yummy colours and a cool mini album!

{long time no post...}

Just too busy!! I have been scrapbooking, cleaning and photographing... Cooking and ironing and plenty more.

My latest photography assignment was miss Dakota and her Unkie Glen... I must say that the lighting was challenging but totally fun!

Here is a sneaky peek for the family:

Dsc_3219

Such a cute bubby... I sure was clucking as I was taking her picture!

Meanwhile Lilly was having fun running around the farmhouse... I dressed her up on purpose in case I managed to get a shot. One half decent one at least:

Dsc_3330

Don't you just love those curls??

I have been working on Lime Tart assignments mostly... I will show you some peeks just before the gallery goes up over there. I can tell you that the papers are yummo (again!) and I had a hard time deciding which side to use.

I will leave you with something at least... tomorrow I promise to post some pics of my latest creative endeavors including some knitting and patchwork.

Nighty nite!

{reorganising and spring cleaning...}

...is what has been on the agenda lately. When the weather starts to warm up and the smells of spring leak through the cracks of the doors, it sends me into a cleaning frenzy. I then collapse into a heap and never want to clean again... not until next spring that is!

I have been busy scrapping up a storm, DT assignments and other stuff, but I am finding that I am running low on photos. Must get the camera and take those everyday shots, I seem to only have camera in hand when we head out the door to go somewhere. My girl has been very cooperative lately in front of the lens though, so I guess I should really take advantage of it.

I have a couple of pages to share:

Autumn_leaves

A photo of the two monsters ;o) back in autumn. Love those crunchy leaves. And a cute layout of the two men in the house, chilling out in front of the cricket:

Hangin_out

Tobey had just gotten up from a nap (ahh those were the days lol...) and was rather cranky. The only thing that calmed him down was a test match. Typical bloke ;o)

Not much else to report... I have finished my Moo cards for the swap over at Blue bazaar. I will post pics tomorrow when the light is ok. Actually, I cant guarantee it because we have had heavy rain tonight and I would be happy to give up good light for the extra water.

Time for bed methinks, after all that cleaning! Will try to update soon!
